Waid Park is the "Crown Jewel" of outdoor recreation in Franklin County. The park features over 5 miles of trails through hills, farmland, and rivers, a professional disc golf course, athletic fields and access to the Pigg River Blueway system.
The Waid Park 18-hole course has 36 baskets, 36 turf tee pads and two practice baskets. This challenging pro level wooded course was constructed in 2022.
Smith Mountain Lake Community Park features 37-acre of public access on the shores of Smith Mountain Lake.The park features 1.7 miles of trails, a handicap accessible fishing pier, a beautiful wide sand beach open during the summer.
