Franklin County - "The Eastern Gateway to The Crooked Road"
The Crooked Road is a 330 mile driving trail through the mountains of Southwest Virginia that connects nine Major Venues and over 60 Affiliated Venues and Festivals that visitors can enjoy every day of the year. The Crooked Road: Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail is also a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization founded in 2004 whose mission is to support economic development in Southwest Virginia by promoting this region’s rich heritage of traditional music.
Concerts by Canoe
Join Franklin County Parks & Recreation at Twin Ridge Recreation Area on Philpott Lake for the 2022 free summer concert series. The Hotdog Stand will be providing the "fixins". Bring your canoe, kayak, SUP, tube or float and paddle your way to a front row seat for this one of a kind event. Music begins at 6:30pm. Arrive early to unload your paddlecraft at the venue’s dual launch ramp.
Harvester Performance Center
The Harvester Performance Center is an indoor, mid-sized music venue serving Rocky Mount, VA, and surrounding areas with great live performances in all kinds of genres. The main room seats up to 446 people with the possibility to hold up to 700 people in a stand-up show configuration. The main room has a 40-foot wide stage with great sight lines and state-of-the-art audio, lighting and video systems.
The Coves Amphitheater
Located on the edge of Smith Mountain Lake VA, The Coves Amphitheater was designed and built to provide a one-of-a-kind music venue for world-class talent. Designed to be a gathering place for lovers of all musical genres, The Coves Amphitheater was integrated into Smith Mountain Lake's first sustainable community. In its first year, The Coves Amphitheater has commitments from over 10 musical artists to perform at this unique venue. "The Homegrown Music Series" in Rocky Mount, VA
Held the second Saturday of the month at the Historic Community & Hospitality Center in Downtown Rocky Mount, the "Homegrown Music Series" highlights the vast local musical talent from Franklin County with a few guests joining in. The evening starts at 5:30 PM with a free open jam and concludes with a featured group or artist taking the floor at 7:00 PM. for only $5.
